To receive a hard copy of our newsletter, click here"Request for participants" Project: Speaking Truth: Incest Survivors Speaking Truth to the Next Generation My name is Michelle Harris and I am an art therapist and clinician. I am developing a series of 4 quilts addressing transgenerational trauma, specifically regarding incest. We will be having an exhibit Nov-Dec 2008 at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center which I hope you will all be able to attend. I am seeking participants in creating a quilt square for one of the quilts. Who are the participants? adults (over 21yo) who self-identify that they have a parent with a history of incest. It is fine if the participants themselves have an incest history or not- I am specifically targeting those that have parents that have an incest history to address what it is like to grow up with a parent that is an incest survivor. The participant will be meeting with just me for 2 hours in one sitting. I will ask them 4 questions about their experience and then ask them to reflect on the theme by doing art - putting together a fabric collage (quilt square) which I will be responsible for sewing and then combining with other participant's quilt squares into a larger quilt design.
