The Women's Center offers a wide variety of programming to meet the various needs of women in our community. So many women deal with issues such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, incest, rape, discriminatory hiring practices, racism, homophobia, and gender-based poverty. In response, we provide counseling, peer support, information, and education concerning these issues. In addition, we address the societal causes of women's issues through organizing, advocacy, and activism. Our programming assists women in healing from traumatic experiences, offers opportunities for women to support each other, and develops new skills and leadership abilities among the women in our community. We are unique in our ability to meet the intersecting needs of a broad constituency of women, providing pertinent programming throughout the healing process and at every stage of development. Ultimately, our programs lead to the empowerment of women through informed decision-making and activism that promotes a just society. |
